This diversity is also reflected in the language landscape. Luxembourgish, a language similar to German with a French influence, serves as a basis for internal communication and connects Hungarians, Portuguese, Belgians, Austrians, Spaniards and Germans at the plant. The „axis“ of the KSB Group Geographically, our SISTO plant is located in the centre of the KSB Group, roughly halfway between Frankenthal and Courbevoie. Economically, however, we were some years away from this ideal location. In 1988 in particular, when a joint venture with a British partner failed, we were faced with major challenges. With a reduced programme and a dedicated team, we managed to turn things around. Today, we are profitable again and offer a versatile and high-quality range of fittings. Destruction tests in the basement Our experts rely on rigorous material tests. „We only use materials that we have already demolished ourselves,“ explains Wolfgang Laser. In the cellar, devices carry out continuous switching tests, test the tear resistance of the diaphragms and put our valves under pressure. High-tech in the beer tent A conspicuous sign of our current lack of space is the large, blue and white beer tent next to the guest car park. This is where we store fittings and materials, often under difficult conditions. However, a new 1000 square metre hall will soon replace this temporary solution, which will make our production easier and save costs, and the construction of the hall and a modern IT system will usher in a new era for the company.
